Bare Knuckle - New York
United Solo Festival – 19 November 2019 - Theatre Row
As a result of a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018, I was invited to apply for United Solo Theatre Festival 2019 in New York.
My submission was selected from hundreds of applications from around the world and together with my incredible team: Lucy Richardson - dramaturgy and direction, Jelmer Tuinstra - lighting and sound, Dale Mensah - music, Freddie Opoku-Addaie - movement , Fabio Santos - production, and with support from LondonMet and Arts Council England, I went back to the studio, reworked on the script and show and took Bare Knuckle to New York.
Bare Knuckle was presented alongside 100+ solo shows, 12 of which were from Europe and five from the UK, at the world‑famous theatre district on 42nd Street in New York City at Theatre Row. United Solo is the world’s largest solo theatre festival, with renowned solo performers, as well as new talents, presenting their work at the festival each year.
